Fruits of the Spirit: Faithfulness

Your mercies are new every morning, Great is your faithfulness, Karen May, Amayzing Graces

Faithful: adj. - 1) loyal, constant, steadfast 2) true to the facts or the original

I think we all understand and appreciate the concept of faithfulness. We value our faithful friends who stand by us no matter what. We value the faithfulness of a kept promise.

When it comes to a Fruit of the Spirit, I see faithfulness as one of the supportive characteristics for all of the others. All the other fruits we have talked about show that we are living a life filled with the Holy Spirit as they pour from us. This one, however, is different.

Of course, it's easy to be loyal and steadfast to something that has such significant effects on our lives. It's easy to be true to the facts when the fact is that God is real and personal. Or is it? I'm pretty sure most of you know that it's not.

The best way to keep ourselves living in that incredibly fruitful space is to life faithfully.

That means that we take God with us into every moment. We keep Him center in our minds in our conversations, decisions, work, when we’re on social media, etc.

Today, we're going to use a simple tool to help keep us centered right where we need to be. Set an alarm for four different times on your phone. Each time it rings, stop where you are, look at the situation you are in, and ask, “What would Jesus have me do here?” I bet one of the other fruits will probably come into play.
